Jafra Cosmetics receives Skin Cancer Foundation seal
The “Jafra Cosmetics International, Inc.” with its head office in Westlake Village, California and which has been a member of the outwork-group since 2004 announced that the product range “Men’s Skin Care” has received the renowned Skin Cancer Foundation seal. The independent institute only awards this internationally recognized seal to skincare products that contain a sun protection factor of at least 15. Jafra now has more than 100 cosmetic and skincare products that have won the seal.
“The consumers want to protect their skin from sun damage, however they are not able to recognize which products can guarantee these properties,” stated Pragna Chakravarti, Jafra’s vice president and chief scientific officer. “Whenever a product has received the seal of the Skin Cancer Foundation, customers can be sure that it has been through a strict screening and rating process and that it provides a sun protection factor of at least15 or higher. Jafra is delighted that so far all assessed products have passed the testing criteria and have received the prestigious seal.
The Skin Cancer Foundation was founded in 1979 and informs the public as well as medics about skin cancer, the most common form of cancer found in the world. The non-profit making establishment promotes the use of sun screen, the need for an early detection of skin cancer and urges immediate medical treatment following detection. In order to facilitate a simple way of choosing effective sun protection products the foundation has developed the seal in 1981 which quickly became an internationally recognized standard in terms of granting safety and functionality when it comes to the protection against ultraviolet radiation. All products that were awarded the seal are thoroughly examined by a team of five medical doctors. The team consists only of leading experts of photobiology, who analyze the interaction between UV-radiation and the skin. Every product is examined anew each year in order to guarantee the seal’s standard.
Jafra wants to continue the analysis of all their new products and formulas of their cosmetic products by the Skin Cancer Foundation. The company distributes its broad range of skin- and personal care products for women and men, decorative cosmetics, wellness products and scents in over 17 countries and has generated a turnover of over 500 Million Dollars. Global warming and the always aggressive sun do not just promote the solar sector but also “Jafra,” which is why the company will not be lacking customers for their sun screen products in the future.
