PM International hands over big cheque for children
On the first PM International AG Family-Day – OBTAINER is going to report in detail about this event that attracted several thousand PM distribution partners on July 17th, 2010 at the area of the Hockenheim airport – funds for a good cause were raised as well. The association “Das kunterbunte Kinderzelt e.V.“ (the colourful children’s tent) was one of the partners for the PM-Family-Day. By now, PM-International founder and chairman Rolf Sorg, together with the PM Charity Representative Beate Schmitt, was able to provide the association with a cheque of a total amount of EUR 5,000.
The association’s chairman, Bernd Druschel, personally accepted the cheque and was grateful for this high amount. The association expressed its gratitude with a very special gift to the host: A gigantic mosaic displaying the logo of the PM-International AG – made and personally signed by the many guests of the PM Family Day. Rolf Sorg was very happy about this gift, thanked the association for the enormous dedication during the Family Day and ensured that the piece of art is going to recieve a very special place at PM.
In return for a donation under the motto “Give happiness, face needs“, the association “Das Kunterbunte Kinderzelt e.V“ – organizes children’s celebrations on a larger and smaller scale, looks after families and children in Balan, a “forgotten city“ in Rumania’s outback and facilitates “sponsorships for children“. In addition, the association plans, founds and operates full-time day-cares in Balan. In Balan, in a grey, run-down centre of houses without windows and heating, the poorest of the poor live under brutal conditions. More than 80% of the residents are unemployed. More than half of the people living here are children. Thus, the association’s dedication is very much needed here.
For Rolf Sorg, charity work is a personal commitment: “One of our most fundamental commitments is to the people in need, especially children“. Thus, PM-International to date took over more than 400 sponsorships for children through the World Vision relief organization. The PM-International AG‘s budget for the sponsorships and charitable projects amounted to about EUR 170,000 in 2009 alone. PM-International supports important local projects in preschools, SOS children’s villages and day-care centres, ensures a supply of clean drinking water through projects to build wells in the third world and helps to build schools enabling children in the poorest countries of the world an access to education.
